A Letter to Mother. PT-7

James Orlin Grabbe

“Despite everything we have said, people really did set their hearts on 1972 being the end of the Work. Now that January 7, 1972 is past, people are wondering how much time is left. People are questioning the validity of Mr. Armstrong’s repeated emphasis on “the gun lap”, “the final phase of the “work”, “the last push”, etc. They are asking, “Are we really in the gun Lap?”, “Is this really the final phase of the Work?” “What does Mr. Armstrong mean when he says the Work is beginning all over again?” Continue reading “A Letter to Mother. I. “Political problems. Despite all the co-worker letters, the Worldwide Church of God News, the announcements in church, etc., the work is NOT going forward in greater power and greater harmony than ever before. This is pure propaganda.”

“For those of us climbing to the top of the food chain, there can be no mercy. There is but one rule: hunt or be hunted.”

A Letter to Mother. PT-5

James Orlin Grabbe

“The point is, mother is not that scriptural reasons induced us to change our position regrading church authority, or to modify our position, nor was it the case that we were uncertain about church authority and needed to study, it further and then financially came to “see” the truth–all that had nothing to do with it. On one hand, HWA was ABSOLUTELY DOGMATICALLY CERTAIN that church government was the image of the Beast; and then later, he was JUST AS ABSOLUTELY DOGMATICALLY CERTAIN that church government was one of the most important truths God had revealed to us.”

Blasphemies

1. impious utterance or action concerning God or sacred things.

    • HWA’s extra-biblical doctrines and teachings
    • Uttering’s that claim to be of God, that conflict with known facts found in ancient history, cultural backgrounds, textual criticism, literary criticism, historical backgrounds, philology, and social science.
    • Bible believers (members) that follow a mans pronouncements over sound biblical theology
    • Penalty: Deuteronomy, chapters 11 and 28 which explicitly promises destitution, humiliation, family disintegration and madness on those who are led astray after false gods, false prophets and teachers. This is coming to pass as the ACOG’s meltdown into oblivion. Mass murder, uxoricide, suicides, fratricide, child abandonment, etc.

2. Judaism.
a. an act of cursing or reviling God.

  • (by personal actions or by words)
    b. pronunciation of the Tetragrammaton (YHVH) in the original, now forbidden manner instead of using a substitute pronunciation such as Adonai.

3. Theology. The crime of assuming to oneself the rights or qualities of God.

  • Claiming to be a prophet that speaks for God.
  • Attributing man made doctrines to God that have no biblical grounding.

4. irreverent behavior toward anything held sacred, priceless, etc.:

  • Membership treated badly. Disfellowshipped for disagreeing with ministry on doctrines not related to salvation.
  • John 3: 16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
  • Mark 9:42 “If anyone causes one of these little ones–those who believe in me–to stumble, it would be better for them if a large millstone were hung around their neck and they were thrown into the sea.”

Heresy

  1. any opinion or belief that is or is thought to be contrary to official or established theory
  • Herbert blasphemously claimed to usurp the identity of virtually every major figure in the Bible. He claimed that the teachings of every other version or sect of Christianity that had ever existed was satanically-inspired and controlled and that every Christian who ever lived was doomed to be burned to death in hell-fire unless they came to Christ through Herbert himself, alone.
  • Has a more blasphemous or ambitious heretical doctrine ever been promulgated in the nearly 2,000 year history of the Christian faith? Presumably there have been other such heresies and there will be more. But it’s hard to think of any more extreme.

Now, what’s the difference between HWA and Frank Underwood?
