1990 WCG Revolution

We’re talking about the shift in political involvement in American politics in the late 20th century and how Billy Graham was part of that revolution.
And let’s be clear on an important point: All revolutions produce good things. And all revolutions produce bad things. No exceptions. All revolutions — whether the revolution takes place in a nation or a church…

What about the SDAs during this time? Well, they were a little different than CG7. I say that because, in the late 20th century, the SDA leadership was actually encouraging their people to be involved in politics. They quoted the Scriptures about Lot and Daniel being involved in politics. You know the drill. The point is that politics wasn’t a big deal to the SDA membership.

Ok. So that’s CG7 and SDA. But then, what was going on in the WCG? The Armstrong movement?

“The WCG was just like France… in that it did NOT have the benefit of experiencing a multitude of mini-revolutions over a long period of time. Instead, in the WCG, there was a ton of built-up frustration and animosity. And when their circa 1990 revolution occurred, it blew up like Mt Vesuvius. “
