“I want to make a statement about…me…now, if I became deceived, I will never tell you what I’m going to tell you now…I am telling you if I go off into strange ideas, misconduct, rebellion, you name it, don’t follow me. I want to tell you that now, because if I start doing that I’m gonna try to get you to follow me! I’m gonna come to you and tell you it doesn’t apply, it doesn’t mean me, no, no, no, no, no, no, it’s OK to follow me because ABCD and XY and Z. Do you understand what I’m saying? Listen to me now, when I tell you don’t follow me if I go off into weird ideas, or if I get off into other things that are total absolutely unscriptural conduct, because if I do I’m gonna paint it with a different face and try to get you to follow me. Do you understand what I’m saying brethren? Please remember that, because I promise you that if I become deceived, I’ll forget it, and I’ll want you to forget it…And I hope you’ll remember it well enough to quote it right back to me…But I’ll tell you what, I’m not going anywhere.”

The author concludes this well researched article (updated in 2025) with this quote:
“I wonder how [Rex] Sexton feels knowing this little wrinkle in the story of his religion, and seeing it withheld from the members of his church rather than confronted. I’ve long told people that one’s faith is the last context in which you should lie. I get lying for a politician to get votes. I get lying for a used car salesman to get a sale. I get lying for a guy at a pub to get… you know. I even get lying to hide embarrassment. But when you lie about something for which you will most certainly face the strictest divine judgment – faith itself – it makes no sense. Those other things can be done even if the means are false. Obtaining eternal salvation does not strike me the same way.”
While the article does go into the supposed “Levitical priesthood” for Armstrongist ministers and the question of legitimate baptisms, this question of lying as a basis of a religion is all encompassing. Scripture clearly says that liars shall not inherit the kingdom of God. That means… the liar’s end is fire. That’s as far as the liar will ever go.
In addition, Christian coverage of the unpardonable sin resolves down to the simple principle that the unpardonable sin is any sin of which the participant does not repent.
The Painful Truth has pointedly proved over and over and over again that British Israelism is a lie. Unfortunately, it is the very foundation of Armstrongism. In the 1950s, those seeking baptism could NOT be baptized unless they embraced British Israelism. After all, it was the key to prophecy. Armstrongism cannot exist without British Israelism. The whole religion falls apart without it. Some have tried and they have failed miserably.
Therefore…
All Armstrongist ministers lie. All those inducted into Armstrongism must believe lies. Lies invalidate Christianity. There will be no happy ending. The Armstrongists are all going to die unless they repent — and there just isn’t enough of that going on.
Furthermore…
All Armstrongist religions (as The Painful Truth has said before) must disband immediately. This is mandatory. There are no other options. To remain in a lying religion is to deny God and call Him a Liar.
Good luck with that.
